This is blog attempt number 3, maybe 4 if you count Flickr which is a kind of photo journal blog for me. Blog #1, “one eye shut” contains just the record of a marvelous 3 week trip to Europe. Blogspot was still fairly tricky to work with at that time, and hard to put pictures in where you wanted them to be etc so I quickly walked away from that and just focused on Flickr (hawkperson), which I have faithfully kept up to date with and will continue to do - I am a huge fan of Flickr. Came back later to blogspot and tried again, “10000 hours of photography”, and blogspot features were better and I created many more entries there than in the first effort.

What excites me about tumblr is the ability to create an entry with a combination of photos, text, and sound. My husband frequently records nature sounds in parallel with me clicking away nearby. We both are interested in what we might be able to do with the combination in some more sophisticated way, but neither of us has the time to do that right now. So at least cool to be able to create and post these combinations for now, here. (see first combination of apapane pic and sound mix from Kauai at the beginning of the year)

link to my first blog attempt which is cold and dead now

link to my first blog attempt which is cold and dead now:
first try theater

link to my last blog which is pretty stale

link to my last blog which is pretty stale

A Guaranteed Way To Get More Comments On Your Blog

A Guaranteed Way To Get More Comments On Your Blog:
perfect…reblogged from Zanshin Art

Dreaming of Kauai today, clearly…photo of Laysan Albatross...

Dreaming of Kauai today, clearly…photo of Laysan Albatross from Jan 2011. Amazing birds - long lived, fly astonishing distances.

You are in a swamp at 4000+ feet on Kauai and listening to...

You are in a swamp at 4000+ feet on Kauai and listening to native birdsong, including wing flutters of the apapane - this is one form of bird communication….

seaside wrentit - 3 things:he looks angrycaptured by the coast -...

seaside wrentit - 3 things:
he looks angry
captured by the coast - songbirds seem to look scruffier by the ocean - is that like that sticky feeling you have when you have been walking by the sea? sticky salty feathers?
I like the way you can see how his tail feathers stack up here
